Adam litigates complex civil and criminal matters with a focus on cryptocurrency, securities, data privacy, and white-collar defense. He is a solutions-oriented advocate who helps founders navigate regulatory uncertainty, manage legal exposure, and resolve disputes efficiently and on favorable terms. As a crypto-native attorney with a nuanced understanding of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence, he leverages years of expertise to advocate on behalf of companies innovating at the forefront of these emerging industries.

Adam brings nearly a decade of experience representing major financial institutions and technology companies in high-stakes disputes. Throughout his career, he has regularly defeated many of the largest law firms by mastering the technical details that often determine outcomes in complex disputes. His legal practice spans a diverse array of proceedings, including civil enforcement actions, regulatory inquiries, internal investigations, and criminal proceedings. He has handled matters involving the SEC, DOJ, FINRA, CFTC, CFPB, and numerous other federal and state regulators.

Additionally, Adam leads UMK’s internal task force on artificial intelligence, coordinating the implementation of AI tools to improve the firm’s administrative workflows and client outcomes. He has also taught Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses on responsible AI adoption in legal practice, addressing topics such as hallucinations, model reliability, and data security.

Adam graduated from Emory University School of Law, where he served Managing Editor of the International Law Review. While in law school, he clerked in the SEC’s Enforcement Division and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Notable Representations:

· Defended a crypto non-profit foundation against an SEC enforcement action alleging its utility token constituted an unregistered security.

· Secured full recovery for the organizers of a prominent crypto convention in a contract dispute with the event’s landlord.

· Represented a data breach victim in a dispute against a major cryptocurrency exchange after thieves used stolen personal information to conduct social-engineering fraud and steal crypto assets.

· Defended client against criminal charges alleging a conspiracy to evade federal income taxes on offshore assets.

· Recovered more than $1.8 million in FINRA arbitration on behalf of elderly client targeted with financial elder abuse.

· Defended Fortune 25 financial institutions in numerous class action lawsuits alleging violations of securities and credit reporting statutes. 

· Won summary judgment in indemnification lawsuit seeking environmental remediation expenses of more than $400 million.

· Defended senior executives of a global social media company during a high-profile federal criminal investigation.
